Solid rotor induction motors (SRIM) became increasingly prominent in high-speed drive applications with the development of efficient power electronics systems. These types of motors are easier to manufacture compared to conventional caged rotor induction machines (CRIM). In addition to that their high material integrity and high thermal properties makes them suitable to be used for high-pressure and high-speed drive applications. This paper proposes a new innovative rotor type for SRIM using in high-speed drive applications. This rotor type consists of hybrid construction of axially slitted and coated solid rotor structures and it is named as Shielded Axially Slitted Solid Rotor Induction Machine (SASSRIM) by the authors. In order to obtain performance characteristics of the novel designed rotor type, transient magnetic model is analyzed by finite element method (FEM). These paper present Two-stage oil-free centrifugal air compressors can convey noteworthy advantages and open new market opportunities for compressor manufacturers. One of the core technologies following this compressor type is the high-speed electrical machine sustain beside active magnetic bearings. In this paper, the desires set through the compressor on the electrical machine design are existing. The design solutions aimed to satisfy these requirements are discussed in industrial application. Two case studies demonstrate probable design approaches for the target relevance through examples of a 120-kW, 60 000-r/min induction machine with a solid rotor and a 225-kW, 50 000-r/min permanent-magnet synchronous machine (PMSM) with a full cylindrical magnet. The organization design and simulation results are established next to measurements of a PMSM prototype.

This paper deals with the design of a 200kW, 20krpm machine for an electric vehicle application. The aim of the research is to design a low cost, rare-earth free magnet electric motor while ensuring mass production feasibility and providing higher performance than currently available technologies. Electromagnetic, thermal and mechanical constraints are considered throughout the machine design process, from the specification to the optimization. Rotor die-casting, oil spray cooling and hairpin winding are among the solutions investigated to fulfill the project requirements. Analytical and numerical methods are adopted for electromagnetic and continuous performance calculations over the machine's full speed range, taking into account the mechanical limits from a stress and modal point of view.
