The importance of monitoring information that serves to assist in decision-making and to anticipate changes has been increasingly recognized in the organizational context because of the growing complexity of the environment. However, the more the strategic importance of the information in organizations is acknowledged, the more difficult it becomes to perceive the difficulties associated with the search and productive use of information. The issues of this research were therefore set up to investigate two points: is there an association between the difficulties perceived by managers in the management of weak-signal anticipative information and the level of entrepreneurial orientation of organizations? And is there is an association between the perceived difficulties and the dimensions of uncertainty perceived by organizations? To achieve this, we propose to conduct this research from the perspective of Intelligence, given that this view covers the steps involved in the search, identification, classification, storage, dissemination and use of information. This structure will make it possible to associate the main difficulties in the management of weak signals, which were identified in previous studies, according to their nature with the classic steps of the Intelligence process. In turn, this will enable an analysis of the relationship between the most significant difficulties perceived by organizations with the degree of entrepreneurship they employ, as well as with the dimensions of uncertainty perceived.

As consumers spend more time on social media, brands can take advantage of this opportunity to better serve and communicate with their followers. Still, given the characteristics of luxury, luxury brands may be reluctant to use social media. To determine the extent to which Millennials and Generation Z consumers perceive compatibility between social media marketing and luxury brands, a purposive sampling technique was employed. We collected data from 303 Romanian visitors of the Facebook page entitled Do You Like Luxury? This page, with postings from luxury producers, was specially created and sponsored in order to raise interest in completing the questionnaires. The Department of Defense (DOD) utilizes the Department of Defense Architecture Framework (DODAF), version 2.0, to model enterprise architectures for all branches of the DOD.  The use of DODAF by the DOD dates back to its initial conception and use for modeling command, control, communications, intelligence, surveillance, and reconnaissance (C4ISR) architectures in 1996.  This initial development and use was due to the Clinger-Cohen Act being passed.  The Clinger-Cohen Act of 1986 concerns itself with DOD information technology (IT) architectures and frameworks.  Clinger-Cohen put for rules on the development, acquisition, management, and maintenance of IT architectures.  The Office of Management and Budget (OMB) also put forth two circulars which call for the need of DODAF in DOD IT architecture projects (DOD, 2010, pp. 30-31).  DODAF version 2.0 is a complicated but essential framework for identifying the overall set of data that is required to model the enterprise architecture in order for decision makers to be able to understand and make clear decisions about the architecture (DOD, 2010, pp. 2-3).  DODAF uses models to represent the data.  Models can be diagrams, spreadsheets, or any data set organized in a form to fill the needs of the view.  Viewpoints are the collection of views required to show the design of the DOD enterprise architecture.  Due to the requirements of DODAF in DOD IT enterprise architectures by Clinger-Cohen and the OMB plus the value of DODAF to executives, managers, and decision makers, DODAF is an essential and excellent tool to use on DOD enterprise architectures.

Decision-making is a cognitive process stemming from the analysis of available courses of action related to a given problem. Rationally, potential courses of action are derived from deliberate analysis of available data related to a problem and its potential outcomes. Decisions are generally characterized as normative, descriptive or naturalistic. Normative decisions are based on evidence, logic and analysis; descriptive decisions are based on intuition and experience. Naturalistic decisions are formed as a hybrid of normative and descriptive processes.

For decision-makers the revolution in information technology and the amount and scope of the data they provide has become overwhelming, leading to cognitive overload, confusion and an inability to function effectively. Decision Support Systems (DSS) facilitate data analysis and selection of a viable course of action rapidly and effectively. However, like the human decision- makers they serve, DSS capabilities may also suffer from cognitive overload, inaccuracy, and complexity, especially in time-sensitive environments.

This study explores DSS employment for time-sensitive decision processes using Digitally Aided Close Air Support (DACAS) as a model. The study explores decision theory, models, DSS development and time-sensitive environments. Using DACAS as a model the paper reveals the obstacles and opportunities associated with the employment of DSS for time- sensitive processes. Finally, the study makes recommendations for improved employment of DSS in time-sensitive environments.

Internet of Things provides truly ubiquitous and smart environment. The multilayer distributed architecture with a variety of different components together with end devices, applications and the association with its framework poses challenge. Internet of Things middleware actions as a joining link between the heterogeneous areas that communicate across heterogeneous edges. In this work, we study the interoperability issue between heterogeneous devices. We presented guidelines to handle the interoperability issue in Internet of Things. This work seeks to provide a new multi-criteria approach to assess IT Governance (ITG) in the area of Strategic Alignment. The complete methodological development process is described. The evaluation model uses Fuzzy Analytic Hierarchy Process (FAHP) and it is targeted to IT processes, more specifically to the COBIT© IT maturity levels, domains and processes, thus providing a differentiated analysis of importance for each item. Its relevance is related to addressing isolated and individual evaluation criteria that are normally practiced in audits of processes. The model allows generating information that extends the guarantees of compliance and corporate governance from different organizations. This research demonstrates that the combined use of multi-criteria decision methodologies and soft computing proves to be particularly suitable for Strategic Alignment such as the focal area of COBIT. The model was applied in a big retail Brazilian company.

"There are many tools available to elicit knowledge and provide understanding of organizational
concerns. This paper focuses on the rich picture (RP) used within the soft system
methodology. The RP is a diagrammatic means of identifying differing world views with
the aim of creating shared understanding of the organization. The RP has predominately
been used as a freeform, unstructured tool with no commonly agreed syntax.
Our research suggests that the RP requires structure to become a contemporary knowledge
elicitation device.We claimthat there has been a change to icons that are renowned as being
synonymous within previous RP construction. Our research has investigated the modern
iconography to be incorporated within a symbol legend for future RP construction. We
conclude that a contemporary icon legend key could offer considerable benefits to the creator
and interpreter of the RP ensuring greater appreciation of the problem situation. Copyright

The now taken-for-granted notion that data lead to information, which leads to knowledge, which in turn leads to wisdom was first specified in detail by R. L. Ackoff in 1988. The Data-Information-Knowledge-Wisdom hierarchy is based on filtration, reduction, and transformation. Besides being causal and hierarchical, the scheme is pyramidal, in that data are plentiful while wisdom is almost nonexistent. Ackoff’s formula linking these terms together this way permits us to ask what the opposite of knowledge is and whether analogous principles of hierarchy, process, and pyramiding apply to it. The inversion of the Data- Information-Knowledge-Wisdom hierarchy produces a series of opposing terms (including misinformation, error, ignorance, and stupidity) but not exactly a chain or a pyramid. Examining the connections between these phenomena contributes to our understanding of the contours and limits of knowledge.

The purpose of this quantitative data analysis was to examine the relationship between industry type and information security risk-level among businesses in the United States.  This paper took into account collected business related data from 36 industry types.  Pattern recognition, bivariate linear regression analysis, and a one-sample t-test were performed to test the industry type and information security risk-level relationship of the selected business.  Test results indicated that there is a significant predictive relationship between industry type and risk-level rates among United States businesses.  Moreover, the one-sample t-test results indicated that United States businesses classified as a particular industry type are more likely to have a higher information security risk-level than the midpoint level of United States businesses.
