Social Network Analysis (SNA)

This study integrates social capital theory and network analysis to explore the relationship between interorganizational networks and organizational action. It analyzes the collaborative partnerships that religious congregations form to provide social services, and it examines how these ties are associated with the number and types of programs they offer. Using cross-sectional and panel data from a national study of congregations, the analysis finds significant relationships between congregations' interorganizational ties and their social service provision patterns. Congregations that collaborate with other organizations offer more programs, and the effect is even greater for congregations with a diverse portfolio of collaborators. Furthermore, a network analysis indicates that congregations with a similar portfolio of collaborators offer a similar menu of services. This study demonstrates that an organization's collaborative ties, above and beyond its internal characteristics, are significantly associated with both the volume and scope of its activity.

At the beginning of the thirteenth century the commercial commune of Pisa was one of the two most powerful maritime forces in the Mediterranean, alongside Venice and ahead of Genoa. By the end of the century, however, the city had declined to a position of solely regional political and economic importance. This dissertation delves into the reasons behind Pisa’s decline during the very period when Italy’s three most famous commercial economies of Venice, Genoa, and Florence were experiencing their greatest growth. This study primarily utilizes traditional historiographic approaches for examining Pisa during the long thirteenth century, but also incorporates the interdisciplinary use of statistical and social network analyses to uncover facets of the socio-economic landscape during the final decades of the century.

The strength of the present work lies in the chronological breadth of its study, encompassing just over a century of Pisan history. Unlike previous scholarship which has focused more narrowly on a few decades, a broader period of study permits the uncovering of communal behavioral trends and patterns in decision making. The causes of thirteenth-century decline can generally be divided into four categories: imperial allegiance at all costs, ignoring structural changes in the global economy, unquenchable Sardinian aspirations, and the consequences of the traumatic naval defeat at Meloria in 1284. Since at least 1081 Pisa had traded its allegiance for imperial commercial concessions, often to the consternation of the city’s mostly papally-aligned neighbors. During the thirteenth century, as imperial power in Italy waned and factional conflict intensified, Pisa adherence to the imperial strategy repeatedly brought them into military conflict with the rest of Tuscany, ultimately isolating Pisa politically on the mainland. Pisa had built its economic-political prominence primarily through the spice trade with the East and the success of its leather industries at home. Political events and changing consumer preferences conspired to move the primary trade routes northward and westward while market demand for spices was eclipsed by demand for woolen textiles; while Pisa was slow to respond to these changes, the city’s chief competitors adapted quickly and reaped the bulk of the benefits, largely excluding Pisa from later entry.

In Sardinia, what had begun as a twelfth-century argument with Genoa over episcopal supremacy evolved into a land grab by Pisa’s most powerful families. As these families wielded significant political power, their personal ambitions bent communal policies to their own interests, repeatedly bringing the commune into violent competition with Genoa. One such encounter was the Battle of Meloria in 1284 which resulted in the death or capture of over 10,000 Pisan men, possibly 25% of the city’s population. This demographic tragedy, combined with the counterproductive policies of a series of strongmen and oligarchies, sent the city spiraling into a protracted economic depression. This depression, discovered for the first time by the statistical and social network analyses of the present study, crippled the already declining economic and political importance of the city, permanently removing any hope of the municipality achieving anything beyond regional importance.

Indonesia is ranked 56th in the Digital Competitiveness Ranking; the survey considers various factors: knowledge, technology, and future-readiness of digital expertise. One entity expected to meet the needs of digital expertise to serve future readiness in digital competitiveness is the government. One way to explore digital expertise in Indonesia is by identifying top talents from data owned by a regional public service. We identify top talents with sufficient digital competence using interviews and questionnaires as media for collecting data between employees using Social Network Analysis (SNA) methodology. This study identifies and maps the best digital talents based on their digital competencies measured by network centrality. The result shows the SNA model represents a digital talent mapping network as a recommendation for the government to improve their digital talents competency, thus developing overall organization performance. The contributions of this study are first to show the best 10 actors as digital expertise at the organization with the accumulation of digital competencies values in these actors. Second, it provides new insight into the talent mapping method, especially in human resources, to increase the potential of digital talent in a regional public service from the results of the centrality measurement.

Community detection is a major issue in network analysis. This paper combines a socio-historical approach with an experimental reconstruction of programs to investigate the early automation of clique detection algorithms, which remains one of the unsolved NP-complete problems today. The research led by the archaeologist Jean-Claude Gardin from the 1950s on non-numerical information and graph analysis is retraced to demonstrate the early contributions of social sciences and humanities. The limited recognition and reception of Gardin’s innovative computer application to the humanities are addressed through two factors, in addition to the effects of historiography and bibliographies on the recording, discoverability, and reuse of scientific productions: 1) funding policies, evidenced by the transfer of research effort on graph applications from temporary interdisciplinary spaces to disciplinary organizations related to the then-emerging field of computer science; and 2) the erratic careers of algorithms, in which efficiency, flaws, corrections, and authors’ status, were determining factors.

There are more types of borders today than ever before in history. Borders of all kinds define every aspect of social life in the twenty-first century. From the biometric data that divides the smallest aspects of our bodies to the aerial drones that patrol the immense expanse of our domestic and international airspace, we are defined by borders. They can no longer simply be understood as the geographical divisions between nation-states. Today, their form and function has become too complex, too hybrid. What we need now is a theory of the border that can make sense of this hybridity across multiple domains of social life.

Rather than viewing borders as the result or outcome of pre-established social entities like states, Thomas Nail reinterprets social history from the perspective of the continual and constitutive movement of the borders that organize and divide society in the first place. Societies and states are the products of bordering, Nail argues, not the other way around. Applying his original movement-oriented theoretical framework "kinopolitics" to several major historical border regimes (fences, walls, cells, and checkpoints), Theory of the Border pioneers a new methodology of "critical limology," that provides fresh tools for the analysis of contemporary border politics.

Unlike traditional mass media, peer interaction between individuals is of critical importance in the dissemination mechanisms for social media. There is emerging interest in the possible novel application of social media in disseminating public health information or messages. In this paper, we analyze tweet and re-tweet behaviour in the context of Australian public health-related micro-blog posts to provide preliminary insights into the characteristics of widely disseminated tweets (including characteristics of re-tweeting accounts). In this way we also consider the nature and role of human computer-mediated interactions in affecting the level of dissemination of Twitter-based public health messages.

The object of the analysis carried out here is the Old Babylonian archive of Nūr-Šamaš, originating from the Diyala region, formed by 116 loan contracts conceded by Nūr-Šamaš, and involving some 400 people as debtors and witnesses. Data obtained from the documents of the archive will be used to generate a graph modelling the relations of the attested persons. The graph will then be split into classes maximizing modularity, that is to say, into clusters optimally composed by personal identifications that statistically tend to connect more inside each cluster than with personal identifications of other clusters. Finally, this will be used to raise or lower the probability of stating that pairs of identifications of the type 'ZZZ, son of YYY' and 'YYY' may correspond respectively to a son and his father.

This essay analyzes discourses and narratives of men who frequent the washrooms at public venues in Havana. The graffiti on toilet room walls works as an articulator of micro markets of sexual communication and gender/sexual relations. In this article graffiti is the focus of an ethnographic approach to everyday life and discourses on homoeroticism at play in those sites. The final part of the essay moves on from graffiti in public toilets to chart other places constituting a homoerotic ambiente in Havana.

Objectives. Infodemics of false information on social media is a growing societal problem, aggravated by the occurrence of the COVID-19 pandemic. The development of infodemics has characteristic resemblances to epidemics of infectious diseases. This paper presents several methodologies which aim to measure the extent and development of infodemics through the lens of epidemiology. Methods. Time varying R was used as a measure for the infectiousness of the infodemic, topic modeling was used to create topic clouds and topic similarity heat maps, while network analysis was used to create directed and undirected graphs to identify super-spreader and multiple carrier communities on social media. Results. Forty-two (42) latent topics were discovered. Reproductive trends for a specific topic were observed to have significantly higher peaks (Rt 4-5) than general misinformation (Rt 1-3). Postulamos que las premisas generales de la Teoría del  Equilibrio Social de Heider (Heider, 1946) concuerdan con las observaciones  etnográficas de procesos de fusión/fisión entre hinchadas de fútbol (Garriga  Zucal, 2002). Nos referimos al fenómeno conocidos como "lógica del  enemigo común", donde hinchadas con un enemigo en común establecen una  alianza. Pondremos a prueba la hipótesis de que dicha lógica explica la  mayoría de los casos de alianzas entre hinchadas de fútbol. Utilizaremos el  software FANMOD (Rasche & Wernicke, 2006) para la identificación de <i>motifs</i>  o sub-grupos en una red múltiple de enemistades y amistades entre hinchadas de  fútbol, descripta en un trabajo previo (Bundio, 2011a). En base a los  resultados del análisis se concluye que es necesario reconstruir los procesos  socio-históricos particulares que subyacen a la construcción de identidades a  partir de líneas de fractura históricas, sociales, económicas y políticas  (Giulianotti, 1999), y evaluar el peso relativo de diversos factores en el  desarrollo de conflictos y alianzas entre hinchadas.

As governments worldwide turn to personalised budgets and market-based solutions for the distribution of care services, the care sector is challenged to adapt to new ways of working. The Australian National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS) is an example of a personalised funding scheme that began full implementation in July 2016. It is presented as providing greater choice and control for people with lifelong disability in Australia. It is argued that the changes to the disability care sector that result from the NDIS will have profound impacts for the care sector and also the quality of care and well-being of individuals with a disability. Organizations have been experimenting with intraorganizational crowdsourcing (IOC), yet the mechanisms of IOC production remain an underresearched topic. Drawing on a 2-mode ERGM, we examine structural mechanisms and individual-level factors that shape the network structure of idea generation and selection yielded by an IOC idea challenge in a global IT corporation. Results show a Matthew effect leading to 1) highly centralized employee participation around a few " superactive " employees who engage with many ideas and 2) highly centralized idea popularity with a few ideas attracting most employee attention. We find support for shared affiliations among employee-idea clusters in the first half of the participation, which is, however, less likely in the second half. We also find support for geographic homophily. The rise of crowdsourcing platforms for idea generation and selection has attracted research on their implications for organizational problem solving and innovation (Brabham, 2013). However, most studies have focused on open crowdsourcing platforms, which allow the influx of ideas beyond a clearly defined, formal organizational boundary. This paper describes the use of adaptation patterns in the task of formulating standards for adaptive educational hypermedia (AEH) systems that is currently under investigation by the EU ADAPT project. Within this project, design dimensions for high granularity patterns have been established. In this paper we focus on detailing lower granularity adaptive patterns based upon learning styles. Several patterns from existing AEH system case studies are identified and classified according to an extended learning style "onion" model. This model forms the basis of a learning style taxonomy, introduced here, whose components determine adaptation patterns for AEH. These patterns are of importance both for authoring, as well as for interfacing between adaptive hypermedia systems. From an authoring point of view, these patterns may be used to establish a fine-grain approach to instructional strategies that can be implemented in AEH systems, as a response to a particular learning style. The implementation of this adaptation pattern taxonomy is discussed, both generally and in detail.

Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) provided by OSN service providers for retrieving data impose several unavoidable restrictions which make it difficult to get a desirable dataset. In this paper, we present an iMacros technology-based data crawler called IMcrawler,capable of collecting every piece of information which is accessible through a browser from the Facebook website within the legal framework reauthorized by Facebook.The proposed crawler addresses most of the challenges allied with web data extraction approaches and most of the APIs provided by OSN service providers. We employ social network analysis of collar decoration on Iroquoian vessels to conduct a multiscalar analysis of signaling practices among ancestral Huron-Wendat communities on the north shore of Lake Ontario. Our analysis focuses on the microscale of the West Duffins Creek community relocation sequence as well as the mesoscale, incorporating several populations to the west. The data demonstrate that network ties were stronger among populations in adjacent drainages as opposed to within drainage-specific sequences, providing evidence for west-to-east population movement, especially as conflict between Wendat and Haudenosaunee populations escalated in the sixteenth century. These results suggest that although coalescence may have initially involved the incorporation of peoples from microscale (local) networks, populations originating among wider mesoscale (subregional) networks contributed to later coalescent communities. These findings challenge previous models of village relocation and settlement aggregation that oversimplified these processes.

Global economic activity is networked through cross-national linkages between firm headquarters, branches, and subsidiaries. Brokerage emerges as a key territorial function of this network, with some places acting as gateways or intermediaries for flows of global knowledge, information, or trade. This function is particularly salient for small states and territories leveraging the benefits of borrowed size by offering global professional services, warehousing, logistics, shipping, and finance to wealthy nations or high-net individuals. Nonetheless, to date our understanding of how small states and territories facilitate wealth accumulation is limited to broad concepts of their role as 'gateways' or 'brokers'. Drawing on the Gould and Fernandez (1989) brokerage typology and a network analysis applied to the ties between approximately 700,000 firm headquarter and subsidiary locations of 13 of the worlds' largest stock exchanges, we explore the brokerage role of small states and territories through case studies of Luxembourg, Singapore, Hong Kong, and Panama. Brokerage is found to play an important role in the economy of all four. We argue that each of these small states and territories is uniquely positioned as a broker in global corporate networks, but that this role differs according to geo-economic and political positionality.

Las redes sociales son utilizadas cada vez mas por jovenes tanto para socializar como para compartir ideas y distintas fuentes de informacion. Esta investigacion analiza los usos habituales de diversas redes y explora la hipotesis de que el concepto que los jovenes tienen sobre ellos mismos condiciona el uso de las redes, a partir de una muestra representativa de estudiantes universitarios espanoles. Los resultados apuntan a que el concepto de identidad personal en el entorno digital tiene una correlacion significativa con alguno de los usos habituales y con el genero del usuario.

Mucilage (sea saliva) is a thick, sticky substance produced by almost all plants and some microorganisms. It is formed by the combination of many biological and chemical conditions. It plays various roles in plants such as storing water and food, germination of seeds and membrane thickening. Although there are many different reasons, it is possible to talk about three main factors in the formation of Marine Mucilage, which is on the agenda of our country with the situation in the Sea of Marmara recently: Sea temperatures exceeding the average temperatures, increase in the pollution rate in the seas, and the sea being stagnant. It is known that if these three situations occur, Marine Mucilage increases as some plankton species start to multiply rapidly. This study focuses on the general features of scientific research on sea saliva. In the study, the interdisciplinary nature of the research on sea snail is revealed with a data-based analysis. While it was observed that Zoology, Plant Sciences, Oceanography, Marine & Freshwater Biology, Limnology, Fisheries, Environmental Sciences and Ecology carried out joint studies in these studies with a high collaboration pattern, Italy, France, China, Croatia and the USA were among the countries that attracted attention in terms of the number of publications. While the frequency of studies on the northern Adriatic Sea as a geographical area draws attention, Univ Bologna, Univ Gottingen, Univ Melbourne, Univ Genoa and Istanbul University are among the universities that attract attention in terms of institutional publications.

Immersed within a broader investigation and framed within a quantitative approach, this
paper aims to approach profile of Latin American teachers, using the History and Philosophy
in Science Teaching al. From the implementation of a questionnaire as an instrument
of inquiry and making use of Google Drive application. In order to explore some issues
that could contribute to understanding the development of the History and Philosophy of
Science in education in the context of Latin America. The status of its actors and analyze
the feasibility of strengthening and / or establish a social link between researchers who
are currently working in this field.
The thirty responses made it possible to know who some of the people who are part of that
community. Contribute to the understanding of certain features that may form part of the
reality of the teachers working in this area. In addition, coming to perceive a professional
maturity characterized whose activities generally operate between research and teaching
in higher education institutions, being partakers of research groups, with a lifelong interest
in participating in events where the History and Philosophy of Science, Teaching and
Teacher Education addressed.
The results showed a production of records, books and sequences, targeting mainly university
students and teachers. Still rare within these findings, the production of material
aimed at schoolchildren and material involving the manipulation of ICTs. The instrument
allowed the lifting of some concerns and interesting questions for future research concerning
the scenario that relates the school environment teachers and researchers who
work in the History and Philosophy of Science in Science Teaching. Emerging particular
concern to explore this environment further and the reasons for which there is possibly
an apparent disconnect between the two scenarios and why not became noticeable within
the mapping of people that develop in this area, participation more young researchers
and school teachers.
Furthermore, it was possible to perceive the demand for professionals by establishing a
channel that would allow them to partake of the constant flow of information within their
area of interest, where its connections with other professionals to expand and allowing the
exchange of ideas, concerns, successes and failures. Leaving open the invitation to future
research, the thought of proposals potentializing collective work, facilitate the formation of
new social connections and flow of knowledge among teachers. In search of the strengthening

Traditionally, the study of media systems has focused on the analysis of their actors while their relationships have hardly been studied. This trend is related to the lack of methodological tools for their analysis.

In this paper we explain the operation of the a tool broadly used in the fields of sociology and anthropology and known as social network analysis (SNA). It is proposed to apply it to a specific media system, the Spanish TV one, through a software program called Ucinet 6.

The logics behind this approach is the attempt to focus the analysis in the relationships among the actors of a system instead of their characteristics. It allows to establish patterns of relationships among the different players or nodes and draw the formal structure of this media system: free-to-air terrestrial broadcasters, independent producers, pay-TV platforms and thematic channels producers.

The research exploits data from the 2004-05 season to interpret the mutual influences among the different players, that is, how changes in the micro- level affect the macro- level and vice versa.

Although the subprime crisis regenerated interest in and stimulated debate about how to study the politics of global finance, it has not sparked the development of new approaches to International Political Economy (IPE), which remains firmly rooted in actor-centered models. We develop an alternative network-based approach that shifts the analytical focus to the relations between actors. We first depict the contemporary global financial system as a network, with a particular focus on its hierarchical structure. We then explore key characteristics of this global financial network, including how the hierarchic network structure shapes the dynamics of financial contagion and the source and persistence of power. Throughout, we strive to relate existing research to our network approach in order to highlight exactly where this approach accommodates, where it extends, and where it challenges existing knowledge generated by actor-centered models. Artikel ini ingin melacak dampak polarisasi politik pasca pemilu yang cukup kuat dalam wacana Covid-19. Pentingnya melacak perbincangan tentang Covid-19 adalah untuk melihat dampak distraksi kebijakan pemerintah dalam penanganan Covid-19. Penelitian ini menggunakan social network analisis dan social network actor dalam perbicangan di media sosial Twitter. Dengan mengidentifikasi trending topic yang terkait selama 4 bulan, maka dilakukan crawling data dengan pemograman Phyton, kemudian dilakukan analisis kumulatif teks melalui library phyton sastrawi dan visualisasi analisis SNA dengan Gephi. Temuan penelitian ini memetakan setidaknya ada dua kutub kluster besar yang berseberangan, pertama adalah kutub kluster populis pluralis dan kutub kluster populis islam. Temuannya menunjukkan bahwa wacana kebijakan Covid-19 justru menjadi ajang bagi perang sentimen masing-masing kubu, yang ternyata didominasi oleh buzzer dan sebagian kecil influencer. Sebaliknya, suara kelompok kritis dan rasional malah tenggelam oleh gaung dari para buzzer yang cenderung memiliki sentimen negatif.

In this paper, we address some sociological and political issues linked to the emerging of distributed, real-time “living maps”. A "living map" is a merger between a territory map and a dynamic localized flows representation creating visual information where places, people, activities, and time are mixed together. Starting with the hypothesis of transformation in urban meeting manners, we propose a typology of living maps and we discuss the social and privacy issues linked to each type of use.

3) การเปิดกว้างทางวัฒนธรรม พบว่า ส่วนบัญชาการในระดับจังหวัดมองว่าท้องถิ่นและชุมชนอ่อนแอ เป็นฝ่ายรับมากกว่าที่จะจัดการตนเองและเจ้าหน้าที่ยังปฏิบัติงานแบบรอคำสั่ง การปรับปรุงแผน ปฏิบัติการป้องกันและบรรเทาสาธารณภัยระดับท้องถิ่นและจังหวัดยังไม่ต่อเนื่อง ปัญหาวัฒนธรรมราชการที่ผู้ปฏิบัติงานในระบบราชการขาดสำนึกในการผูกสัมพันธ์กับหน่วยงานอื่น การขาดการให้ความสำคัญกับการนำบทเรียนจากตัวแสดงที่ไม่เป็นทางการในระบบไปขยายผลสู่การทำงานที่เป็นทางการ การยอมรับภารกิจที่เพิ่มเข้ามาในการจัดการข้อมูลเฉพาะกิจที่ไม่มีโครงสร้างถาวรของหน่วยงานระดับอำเภอ การให้ความสำคัญกับการพัฒนาศักยภาพในการรับมือกับเหตุฉุกเฉินของชุมชนและท้องถิ่นยังจำกัด
การวิเคราะห์เครือข่ายทางสังคม (social network analysis) แสดงภาพความสัมพันธ์ของตัวแสดงทั้งภาครัฐ ภาคประชาชนและภาคประชาสังคมที่มีส่วนร่วมในการจัดการภัย พบว่า สภาพ (Topology) ของเครือข่ายมีลักษณะกระจายอำนาจออกจากส่วนกลาง (decentralize) ความสัมพันธ์ส่วนใหญ่รวมศูนย์เชื่อมโยงอยู่กับส่วนบัญชาการกลาง (EOC) ประกอบกับจังหวัดเชียงรายมีแผนปฏิบัติการรับมือแผ่นดินไหวที่ระบุบทบาทหน้าที่ของหน่วยงานต่างๆในระยะฉุกเฉินไว้ชัดเจนและเคยซ้อมไว้ก่อนเกิดภัยแล้ว การปฏิบัติงานในภาวะฉุกเฉินของหน่วยงานระดับจังหวัดจึงค่อนข้างพร้อมและเป็นเอกภาพ แต่ถัดมาในระยะฟื้นฟูการบริหารแบบรวมศูนย์กลางกลับเป็นข้อจำกัด เมื่อหน่วยงานระดับจังหวัดยังขาดระบบสารสนเทศสำหรับเชื่อมโยงฐานข้อมูลระหว่างหน่วยงานเข้าด้วยกัน การแลกเปลี่ยนข้อมูลและแบ่งปันทรัพยากรระหว่างหน่วยงานจึงเกิดขึ้นได้ไม่เต็มที่ การประเมินความเสี่ยงสำหรับทำแผนเตรียมพร้อมป้องกันภัยเป็นองค์รวมจึงยังจำกัด
การบูรณาการความร่วมมือเพื่อการบริการจัดการภัยพิบัติ ควรเริ่มจากการปรับปรุงให้หน่วยงานระดับจังหวัดกระจายอำนาจในการบริหารจัดภัยพิบัติ สานความร่วมมือข้ามภาคส่วนในลักษณะของการกระจาย (distribution) ให้ท้องถิ่นสามารถสื่อสารและแลกเปลี่ยนทรัพยากรกับหน่วยงานต่างๆได้คล่องตัว นำเทคโนโลยีสารสนเทศมาใช้ในการจัดการข้อมูลและระบบสื่อสารหนุนเสริมให้เครือข่ายสามารถปรับเปลี่ยนรูปแบบได้อย่างยืดหยุ่น ปรับตัวจากความสัมพันธ์ที่มีโครงสร้างแบบกระจายอำนาจออกจากส่วนกลาง มาเป็นโครงสร้างแบบกระจายที่องค์กรปกครองส่วนท้องถิ่นสามารถแลกเปลี่ยนทรัพยากรหรือประสานความร่วมมือจากหน่วยงานต่างๆได้เองได้เมื่อสถานการณ์คลี่คลาย ส่วนในระดับชุมชน ให้มีการเผยแพร่ความรู้ในการเผชิญเหตุแผ่นดินไหวกับประชาชนทั่วไป ควบคู่ไปกับการให้ความรู้ในการประเมินความเสี่ยงและการซ่อมสร้างอาคารให้ทนกับแผ่นดินไหวแก่ช่างท้องถิ่นและผู้นำชุมชน เพื่อสนับสนุนการรับรู้ความเสี่ยงเพื่อเตรียมพร้อมรับมือภัยพิบัติควบคู่กับการฟื้นฟูและควบคุมความเสี่ยงจากภัยพิบัติไปพร้อมๆกัน

Este estudio analiza de forma gráfica las redes sociales en una clase de Educación Física de un centro público de secundaria de Valencia durante la pandemia del COVID-19, a partir de las conexiones que se producen entre los alumnos. El objetivo principal de este escrito es comprobar el estado social del aula e identificar situaciones potencialmente problemáticas en
el aula, a partir del análisis de dimensiones como la interacción agradable, el apoyo emocional, el apoyo social y el coestudio. Se utilizó una metodología cuantitativa mediante un cuestionario donde los estudiantes debían responder en función de su percepción del resto
de compañeros a partir de varios ítems correspondientes a dimensiones sociológicas. A partir de este punto, se realizó un análisis de redes sociales (SNA) y se extrajeron valores numéricos y gráficos que exponían la situación social del alumnado. Se hallaron problemas de integración, derivadas de las grandes diferencias de centralidad entre los alumnos más
aislados y la media de la clase, así como una gran cantidad de conexiones en la dimensión "interacción agradable” y pocas conexiones en “apoyo emocional”. Se hallaron también diferencias sustanciales de liderazgo dependiendo de la dimensión de forma que los alumnos
líderes en unos ámbitos, en otros no lo eran. Por último, se encontraron diferencias entre las conexiones cara a cara y digitales, siendo mayores estas últimas. Este estudio anima a los docentes de Educación Física a utilizar en SNA para conocer de forma objetiva la situación social de la clase, teniendo en cuenta el gran componente social que envuelve a una sesión de esta asignatura.

Many studies focus on the competitive characteristics of cities-such as accessibility, infrastructure, knowledge, creativity, institutions, face-to-face-contacts, tacit knowledge, and business interaction-and how these attract FDI, firms, and people. However, few studies focus on the spatial characteristics of urban clusters. In this study, knowledge-intensive FDI into 15 Northwestern European cities was explored. The FDI was geo-mapped at a district level, and the characteristics of these districts regarding proximity, functionality, urbanity and spatial quality were classified. The results revealed the spatial indicators that attract FDI in knowledge-intensive industrial activities.

Research on knowledge management (KM) has converged to research in personal knowledge management (PKM) that is characterised by features of the social networks. We postulated an Effective PKM Framework, which consists of the PKM processes of get, understand, share and connect (GUSC), and the cognitive enablers called method, identify, decide and drive. This paper attempts to prove the existence of the GUSC processes within a social network environment, in which the current generation of knowledge workers spends more time. The results include social network diagrams and analysis on the four processes, and significant findings that relate these analyses with the cognitive enablers.

The presented study conducts a real-time sentiment analysis of the public reaction towards the announcement of the Indian Union Budget 2020. On social media platforms, the general public vents their opinions regarding popular issues. A total of 6000 tweets were mined to gauge the quick response of the public sentiment about the union budget which was presented in the Indian Parliament on February 1, 2020, at 11 am. The instantaneous reaction of the general public in the form of tweets was mined during the budget announcement hours. A sentiment analysis based model was used to analyze the dataset. Subjectivity and polarity values obtained for the dataset were used to calculate the sentiment for individual tweets. The experiment produced an overall positive score of +149.3387 based on the Twitter user’s collective opinions.

Cet article dessine le contexte d&#39;une etude portant sur les reseaux criminels de traite des etres humains et decrit la rencontre de trois champs disciplinaires engages dans ces travaux : droit, sociologie et informatique ainsi que les elements methodologiques developpes. Il pose en effet les fondations d&#39;une methodologie venant en appui a l&#39;etude juridique des reseaux criminels, et plus specifiquement de ceux se livrant a des faits de traite des etres humains. La &quot; science des reseaux &quot; (Network Science), vue a la fois comme une abstraction mathematique et une methodologie sociologique, sert de socle pour formuler et explorer un faisceau d&#39;hypotheses eclairant le(s) mode(s) operatoire(s) des reseaux criminels et le statut des acteurs au sein de celui-ci. Les lecons apprises, nourries des interactions entre disciplines, permettent de dessiner les axes de travaux futurs pour ameliorer la methodologie avancee.

On 13 January 2019, Gillette launched a short film on YouTube entitled We Believe as part of a campaign addressing negative behaviour among men that perpetuates toxic masculinity. However, the video was subject to a large backlash with over one million downvotes on YouTube and thousands of critical comments accusing Gillette of playing into the 'feminist agenda'. This paper examines the configuration of the backlash, specifically examining the networked properties, structure and key actors of the backlash represented in the comments below the YouTube video to understand how masculinities are (co)produced and reproduced in a post-#MeToo digital sphere. The analysis incorporates social network and thematic analyses of the comments posted under the Gillette YouTube video. The study contributes insight into the structure and configuration of a digitally networked backlash public and identifies how digital tactics are employed by a masculine public to achieve digital hegemony in the networked sphere.

El Análisis de Redes Sociales provoca en los investigadores un interés por descubrir patrones sociales de los usuarios en Twitter, siendo una red de miles de tweets publicados a diario, la interpretación de los valores que resulta de los algoritmos al clasificar pretende encontrar comportamientos e información fiable. Este artículo analiza las técnicas de: centralidad de intermediación, centralidad de cercanía, estudio de las subestructuras de Twitter en el contexto de Open Data, haciendo hincapié en la extracción de datos e interpretación de los valores extraídos.
